2. As per the new guidelines given by University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) there are few last minute changes in the exam pattern made for qualifying the UGC NET Exam. This kind of sudden changes might have moved various candidates from being lecturers in various educational institute.3. NET December 2013- June 2014 Change in Qualifying Criteria:
Paper is completely objective manner and instead of two papers; three paper patterns are introduced in the system.

The candidates must have the minimum qualifying criteria separately for each paper to qualify NET Exam as given below in the table.

4. Ph.D candidates are exempted from appearing for the exam, while, NET / SET (State Eligibility Test) must be cleared for the post of assistant professor in higher secondary and university level educational institutes. This exemption for Ph.D holders come under the regulation act of 2009 in accordance with UGC.
